Statement of Faith
RCETC holds the following to be true:
1.) God
He is the self-existent one. (Gen.1:1 and Exod.3:14)
God is three persons, one spirit entity. Proof: One spirit, John 4.24 "God is spirit", singular. Three persons: 1 Pet 1:2-3 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: may grace and peace be yours in fullest measure. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (NAS).
Other proofs: Matt. 3:16,17; Rom. 1:7; Heb. 1:8; Acts 5:3,4.
The major attributes of God are:
He is Holy. Isa. 57:15 and I Peter 1:15,16
He is Omnipotence. Job 42:2; Gen 18:13,14; Nahum 1: 3-6.
He is Omnipresence. Jer. 23: 23,24 and Ps.139:7-12.
He is Immutable. Mal. 3:6
He is Omniscience. I John 3:20 and Job chapter 38 and 39.
He is Righteous. Ps. 129:4; Ps. 145:17; Rom. 2:5,6
He is Just. Neh. 9:33
He is merciful. Neh. 9:31
He is Love. Rom. 5:5; Rom. 8:39; I John 4:8,16
2.) Jesus Christ
Jesus is God by nature and the second person of the triune God head. John 1:1,14 and Matt. 16:16,17
Jesus was virgin born, making Him sinless in human form. Matt. 1:18,20,21; Luke 1:31-37
Jesus took on the form of a man to include a sinless human nature. Phil. 2:6-11 and Heb. 2:1-15
Jesus was resurrected from the dead. John 11:25,26; I Cor. 15:3-8; Rev. 1:17,18
Jesus is the savior of the World. Luke 2:11; John 4:42; I John 4:14
3.) Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God by nature and is the third person of the triune God head. John 14:16 and Rom. 8:26
The work of the Holy Spirit includes the following:
To reprove the world of sin. John 16:8-11
To regenerate the believer. Titus 3:5
To seal the believer. Eph. 1:13,14 and Eph 4:30
To in-fill the believer. Acts 2:4 and Eph 5:18
To empower the believer. Acts 1:8 and Acts 10:38
To Guide the believer. Rom. 8:14 and Gal. 5:16-18
To anoint the believer. I John 2:20,27
4.) Man
Man was created perfect in the image of God. Gen. 1:26-31
Man fell into sin and became separated from God. Gen. 3; Rom. 5:12; Rom.3:10; 1 John 1:8-10
Because of these facts we have the result of the total depravity of man as described in Rom.3:10-18.
Man can be redeemed (saved) by God. Gal. 3:13,14 and I Peter 1:18,19.
5.) Salvation
Salvation is by grace. Plus nothing or minus nothing. The conditions of salvation are repentance and faith. Eph. 2:8,9; II Peter 3:9; Rom. 5:1,2.
6.) The Scriptures
The Scriptures teach the verbal, plenary, inspiration of the original Scriptures. II Tim 3:16; II Peter 1:21; Rom. 1:2
7.) Heaven and Hell
The Scriptures teach in the everlasting conscience blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscience punishment of the lost. Ecc. 5:2; Matt. 5:12; Luke 12:5; Matt. 5:22
8.) The Devil
His existence. Ezek 28:13-15 "You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the ruby, the topaz, and the diamond; the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper; the lapis lazuli, the turquoise, and the emerald; and the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, was in you. On the day that you were created they were prepared. "You were the anointed cherub who covers, and I placed you {there.} You were on the holy mountain of God; you walked in the midst of the stones of fire. "You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you. (NAS)
His fall. Ezek 28:16 "By the abundance of your trade you were internally filled with violence, and you sinned; therefore I have cast you as profane from the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. (NAS)
His purpose. 1 Pet 5:8 Be of sober {spirit,} be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.(NAS)
His Destiny. Matt 25:41 "Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; (NAS)
